Word Guessing Game
A hangman-style word game in React where every wrong guess eliminates a programming language, ending with Assembly.
About this project
Assembly: Endgame, a word-guessing game where each wrong letter knocks out one programming language. Guess the word before only Assembly is left.
Key features:
- Random word picked from a list of around 480 words
- On-screen keyboard that marks letters as correct or wrong and locks when the game ends
- Eight lives shown as programming-language chips, each with a farewell message when it is lost
- Win and lose screens, with the missing letters revealed on a loss
- Confetti celebration on a win, and a New Game button to play again
Engineering:
- Game status, wrong-guess count, and win or loss are derived from just two pieces of state instead of being stored separately
- Deployed to GitHub Pages
